According to u, “u is part artist, part arena,” and “a transferable personal alias and a social space for collaboration”—a project, and, as u’s, a project space, that has invited artists to collaborate in and on project spaces since 2019.

Starting as the letter “u” in the word “Current” on the website of 67 Steps, Los Angeles, after that project ended (2017–2018), u’s was a project space in Calgary (2019–2020), and u’s hut is now under construction in Diamond Valley, Alberta, while u has organized exhibitions in various off-site locations across Foothills County and rural Alberta (since 2020).

u has also organized or taken part in exhibitions and artists’ projects in Portland, Calgary, London, Toronto, Los Angeles, Warsaw, and Montreal, and u’s project spaces have been exhibited at Centre Village Mall, Lethbridge, an off-site project for The Southern Alberta Art Gallery / Maansiksikaitsitapiitsinikssin (project spaces, 2022–2023), and at Backrooms, organized by Otto Bonnen for Kunsthalle Zürich (new project spaces, 2024), with a publication to complete the former exhibition (in 2024).
